Every child has the right to be healthy, educated and most importantly to be safe. UNICEF has 77 years of using our expertise and global reach to maximise every donor dollar to be there for kids in need.

As the world's leading children's organisation that spans across 192 countries and territories, we can do whatever it takes to help kids lead happy, healthy lives filled with hope.

How we can work together

There is no better team than UNICEF Aotearoa and philanthropists. It's this amazing combination that enables us to reach children with life-saving help.

Working together has never been as powerful than in this moment. The importance of team work leads to innovative solutions for long lasting, sustainable change for children and their communities.

That's where you come in! We need the support of generous philanthropists who can make it possible to reach vulnerable children all around the world. From Afghanistan to Vanuatu, there is no country, no community that is too far and with your help we can be there for kids when they need us most.

Our hard mahi

Your Philanthropy Journey

It's time to start your exicting journey with us. First, understanding why you want to give will define how you want to give, including how engaged you want to be on your philanthropy journey with UNICEF Aotearoa.

To make a difference on a worldwide scale, philanthropists partner with UNICEF to help provide vaccines in hard to reach communities, establish sustainable solar powered water towers to drought stricken areas and enable online learning in remote regions.

Philanthropic leaders are essential in strategising and accelerating new innovative solutions that will make long lasting and life changing impact for kids. Muhammed Aziz Khan who is a Member of the UNICEF International Council had a shared vision: to provide quality education to out-of-school children aged 8-14. Ability Based Accelerated Learning (ABAL) was born! This personalised learning environment in Bangladesh empowers kids to discover their unique learning style.

    UNICEF INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL

Formed in 2017, The UNICEF International Council is a global hub of entrepreneurs, investors, board members and CEO's collaborating and working for children's rights. It's a melting pot of parents and grandparents with different backgrounds and cultures coming together for one mission- turning the Sustainable Development Goals into a reality. By being a champion of children's rights they're committed to solutions to enable access to education, health and emergency systems that build climate resilience and provide long term sustainable change.

Former UNICEF Executive Director and International Council member, Henrietta Fore invested in an innovative idea to change the landscape of emergency response. In places like Guatemala where they're extremely vulnerable to climate disasters, Dan Alvarez, a drone engineer from the company Aerobots helped create a drone system technology for climate crisis recovery. DroneBots gather and transmit real-time disaster data in no time at all and without the lag of wi-fi slowing them down. These flying gadgets may be small but are making a mighty impact, in coordinating a fast national response, increasing the speed by 80%.

    UNICEF NEXT GENERATION

NextGen is a close-knit community of committed humanitarians, influencers, donors and creatives between the ages of 21 and 45, who pledge their skills, time and financial resources to support kids worldwide. All coming from diverse industries and countries to commit to engaging and inspire the next generation of leaders in support of UNICEF's life-saving work.

In the US, NextGen has collectively raised over $18 million in support of 20+ UNICEF projects around the world such as the "Multiple Use of Water" system at Ehavo Public Primary School in Madagascar. This innovative system that was implemented in 2020 provides safe and clean water to the 500 villagers and beyond. It draws water from the ground through the power of several solar panels and a connected water tower. The success of having clean water on tap is changing kids lives for the better, one community at a time.
