Clean Water for Every Child

For kids in the Pacific, a sip of water can be dangerous.

One in ten kids lacks access to safe drinking water – resulting in preventable diseases that remain the leading cause of death for children under five.

When you support the DC10 fund for UNICEF Aotearoa, you’re investing in sustainable water projects that are climate-resilient and locally maintained. This kind of change empowers remote communities, ensuring kids are protected from illness and able to focus on learning and playing!

Dan Carter visits a school in the Pacific region of Kiribati to see the amazing impact the DC10 fund is having for kids' access to clean water.

The Every Drop Challenge!

A half-time showdown where rugby meets real-world impact!

Work together with Dan Carter in a fast, high-energy kicking challenge to raise funds for clean water in the Pacific.

The goal is simple: kick the ball over the posts and into a giant bucket 25 times in five minutes. Every successful drop unlocks funds for clean water – maximising the impact for kids in the Pacific!

Tune in to the Super Rugby Super Round on April 26th to see the action.

    Clean Water in the Pacific

When a child doesn’t have access to clean water, it can affect their nutrition, health, education, and every other aspect of their life. In the Pacific Islands, around 1.2 million children are growing up without reliable access to safe water and many face challenges like this every day.

The DC10 fund is helping UNICEF combat this by further investing in sustainable water projects that will be locally run and maintained. This sort of change is what can empower remote Pacific communities - allowing kids to grow up happy, healthy and able to focus on their education and future.

    Supporting Emergency Response

Natural disasters are increasing because of climate change, and the Pacific islands are at high risk of earthquakes, tsunamis and extreme flooding.

These events destroy crops and homes, limiting access to safe water, food supplies and health care which means kids are at much higher risk of disease and malnutrition. The DC10 fund highlights the urgency of these disasters, the need for lasting solutions, and encourages Kiwis to help UNICEF provide life-saving resources within 48 hours, as well as long-term support.
