Two powerful 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck northern Venezuela on June 24th. Homes and buildings have collapsed, claiming dozens of lives and injuring hundreds, with numbers expected to rise as rescue efforts continue.

Children and families are in urgent need of shelter, clean water and medical care. UNICEF teams are on the ground working to deliver urgent, life-saving aid to those affected.

What's happening in Venezuela and how can I help?

Right now, the best way to help children and families in Venezuela is by supporting our appeal.

Our teams are on the ground, working alongside our local and international partners, responding in the worst affected areas. Urgent needs include safe water, healthcare, nutrition support, child protection services, psychosocial support, temporary learning spaces and other essential supplies.

As the emergency evolves, we'll continue to assess the situation and scale-up our response and mobilise additional resources to where ever is needed.

UNICEF responds to more than 300 emergencies every year. We're there in the immediate aftermath of a crisis like this, and we stay for the long term while children still need us.

A one-off or monthly donation today can make a life-saving difference to children in Venezuela. You'll be helping provide life-saving supplies like food, clean water and shelter to families in an emergency.
