Donate now to help UNICEF continue providing lifesaving support for children and families across Colombia.
A powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck Colombia early on 10th August, 2026. At least 111 people have been killed and 87 injured, including children. More than 1,500 homes were damaged and at least 60 buildings have collapsed, trapping people under debris and forcing others to evacuate.
UNICEF has been helping kids in Colombia for decades - providing vaccines, education opportunities, nutrition support, clean water and child protection services. More than 4 million children were already in need of humanitarian assistance before the earthquake, and this disaster will only increase that number.

What UNICEF is doing to help in Colombia?
This disaster comes less than two months after devastating back-to-back earthquakes struck neighbouring Venezuela, compounding an already severe regional crisis.
Right now, your support helps power UNICEF teams on the ground in Colombia, assessing urgent needs following the earthquake and mobilising support to help children and families caught in overlapping tragedies.
When disaster strikes, UNICEF is there to help protect children and families and support their most urgent needs, including:
- Clean, safe drinking water to prevent waterborne disease
- Hygiene kits & temporary shelter for families who've lost everything
- Child protection & mental health support to help children recover from trauma
Your one-off or monthly donation today ensures children are protected and supported for the long haul as their communities rebuild.
Donate today to provide life-saving support to children in Colombia.

How will my donation help children in Colombia?
UNICEF is working alongside our partners on the ground to provide lifesaving healthcare, clean water, sanitation and hygiene and protection to families in need.
- $120 could help provide 255 vaccine doses, ensuring that children's futures are protected against preventable but dangerous diseases.
- $152 could help provide 252 sachets of Plumpy'Nut®, a therapeutic paste, which is enough to help two children with severe malnutrition recover through a full course of treatment.
- $550 could help provide hygiene and dignity kits for seven families, each packed with emergency supplies including soap, water containers, cleaning products and reusable menstrual products.
UNICEF responds to more than 300 emergencies every year. We're there in the immediate aftermath of a crisis like this, and we stay for the long-term while children and families need us.
