IN GREATEST NEED

  3. Wrap a Child in Hope

Emergencies don't do holidays... neither do we.

This festive season, wrap a child in hope by donating to UNICEF. We are there before, during and after a crisis hits when children need protection, care, and hope the most. As the year wraps up, many of us are looking forward to time with friends, whānau, basking in the sun. But for millions of kids around the world, hope looks very different.

Conflict, hunger, and climate disasters have forced children and family from their homes and schools. Many have lost access to food, clean water, healthcare, learning, and joy. Things no child should ever go without.

When an emergency strikes, UNICEF is already there. On the ground, within 48 hours, delivering life-saving aid. This season, your generosity will help us keep that promise. Every donation helps wrap children in warmth, safety, and hope.

Donate today and wrap the world’s most vulnerable kids in hope.

How we respond - Together!

Whether there’s flooding in Bangladesh, violence in Gaza and Sudan, or earthquakes in Türkiye, UNICEF’s there. We work in over 192 countries and territories. Ready, for when kids need us. Not just during, but before and after.

Because of our global supply network, UNICEF can deliver life-saving supplies anywhere in the world within 48 hours. From pre-stocked warehouses to local partners on the ground, we make sure help arrives fast, no matter the conditions.

Your donation is more than a gesture, it’s action. And it’s monthly gifts that ensure we can act fast when the next crisis hits.

Every parcel, vaccine, and school kit we deliver is a lifeline, and it’s powered by people like you.

Therapeutic food for kids to treat malnutrition

Donors help us respond to over 300 emergencies every year.

This is what hope looks like

It's smiles like 6-year-old San Myann's that make it all worthwhile! San Myann is a Grade 1 student from Sein Kone Ward, Sagaing Town, Myanmar.

The devastating earthquake of 28 March 2025, left her and thousands of children across Myanmar and Thailand without their homes or any of the things children turn to for comfort when the world gets too much.

For many kids it's school where they can feel a sense of normality again. UNICEF stepped in to provide San Myann and her fellow classmates at Za Nya Kanbawza Monastic Education School, new school kits and bags.

These same kits and bags are in our Inspired Gifts catalogue and the joy they bring to kids who need it most is palpable! Just ask San Myann.

Learning materials for kids
  • seven-year-old Aya stands in a classroom with her UNICEF exercise book at Dabba Nayra village school in Tawila, North Darfur
A Hopeful Beginning After Fleeing Al-Fasher

Seven year old Aya stands at a small wooden desk in Dabba Nayra village school in Tawila, North Darfur. Her new books and pencils feel like treasures. After fleeing violence in Al Fasher with her family, this is the first time she has ever been able to enrol in school.

As classrooms reopened, UNICEF and partners delivered essential learning materials to children and teachers who had fled the conflict. Boxes of books, pencils and colours were handed out as children waited with excitement and relief.

UNICEF staff met with families, offering reassurance that education is still possible. Communities are encouraging every parent to enrol their children so learning can continue and daily life can slowly return.

For Aya, these supplies mean far more than schoolwork. They bring safety, stability and hope. Wrapped in Hope means giving children like her the chance to learn, connect and begin again.

  • 9-month old Mohammed gets the vaccinations he missed during the two year war in Gaza.
Wrapping Gaza's kids in protection against disease

After two years of disrupted health services, thousands of children in Gaza have fallen behind on their routine vaccinations. In November 2025, UNICEF and partners launched a catch up campaign to reach more than forty four thousand children under three with life saving vaccines.

At a vaccination point in Gaza City, nine month old Mohammed receives the vaccines he missed. His father explains that their family was displaced and the danger made it impossible for Mohammed to get his six month vaccinations. Health teams travelled to primary health centres and shelters to reach displaced families with vaccines that protect against measles, polio, pneumonia and other preventable diseases.

Each vaccine given is a moment of reassurance for parents and a step toward safeguarding Gaza’s youngest children. Wrapped in Hope means helping every child receive the protection they deserve, no matter the circumstances.

  • Haneya, an 11-month-old baby was brought to the nutrition ward in Guzarah Hospital for checkups and screening, in Guzarah district, Herat province, Afghanistan.
Hope and Nutrition for Afghanistan's kids

At Guzarah Hospital in Herat province, 11-month old Haneya visits the UNICEF supported nutrition ward with her mother. It is their sixth checkup, and each visit brings progress.

“When we first came, she was very weak,” her mother says. “Now she eats more and has more energy. The staff are kind, and I always feel welcomed. They treat her like their own child.”

Across Afghanistan, UNICEF supports thousands of families with nearby nutrition services. Through community clinics and health facilities, children receive therapeutic food and care that restores their strength.

Every recovery is a reminder that with the right support, children can grow, heal and look toward a brighter future.

Wrapped in Hope means helping children like Haneya regain strength and possibility.

This season, give the gift that matters most.

While we wrap gifts for those we love, UNICEF is wrapping hope around the world’s most vulnerable children — one blanket, one vaccine, one classroom at a time.

Join us. Help wrap every child in hope.
