UNICEF Aotearoa DC10 Fund Competition Terms and Conditions
By entering this competition, you are acknowledging that you have read, understood and agree to the Competition Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) set out below.
1. How to enter
1.1 Participants enter the Competition by making a contribution of $10.00 NZD, during the Competition Period, to UNICEF Aotearoa in support of UNICEF Aotearoa’s DC10 Fund through https://www.unicef.org.nz/our-work/dc10-competition (each an “Eligible Contribution”). Participants may make multiple Eligible Contributions.
1.2 For every Eligible Contribution, the participant will automatically receive one entry in the Competition. Entry in the Competition will be evidenced by a numbered ticket issued by UNICEF Aotearoa to the Participant by email, in respect of each Eligible Contribution.
1.3 Net proceeds of the Competition will support the UNICEF Aotearoa’s DC10 Fund, which supports UNICEF Aotearoa’s clean water work in the Pacific.
1.4 The Competition will have a maximum of 2,500 entries, each numbered from 0001 to 2,500 inclusive. Participants will receive an email with their entry number(s) in respect of each Eligible Contribution.
2. Competition Period
2.1 The Competition starts at 00:01am March 23 2026 and closes on the earlier of:
a. 1:59pm April 19 2026; or
b. the date and time that Eligible Contributions totalling $25,000 NZD have been made.
2.2 Contributions made by any person, or received through https://www.unicef.org.nz/our-work/dc10-competition outside the Competition Period, or that are not otherwise Eligible Contributions, do not give the contributor entry into the Competition and will not be refunded.
3. Who can enter
3.1 This Competition is open to New Zealand residents aged 18 and above who make an Eligible Contribution.
3.2 UNICEF Aotearoa staff members, contractors and board members (and their immediate family) are not eligible for entry.
3.3 UNICEF Aotearoa reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entry and the validity of any contribution made through the https://www.unicef.org.nz/our-work/dc10-competition during the Competition Period and may disqualify any entry that is ineligible, incomplete, illegible, fraudulent, or made in breach of these Terms.
3.4 Contributions made to enter the Competition will not be eligible for a donation tax credit, and no donation receipt will be issued in respect of any such contribution.
4. Prize information
4.1 There is only one prize, which will be awarded to one winner.
4.2 The prize (the “Prize”) is an experience for two adults and two children (aged 16 or under) comprised of:
a. return flights to Christchurch from Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Dunedin or Queenstown (the “Departure Airport”) on April 25 2026, returning from Christchurch to the Departure Airport on April 27 2026
b. standard entry tickets to the Super Rugby Pacific Super Round matches being played at One New Zealand Stadium Christchurch on Sunday April 26 2026
c. two nights accommodation (25 and 26 April 2026) at the Sudima Hotel, Christchurch Airport (550 Memorial Ave, Christchurch 8053) in a deluxe twin room, with breakfast
d. return taxi voucher to and from Sudima Hotels Christchurch Airport to One New Zealand Stadium Christchurch (181 High Street Christchurch Central Christchurch 8011)
e. joining Dan Carter on the field during UNICEF Aotearoa’s half time “Every Drop Counts Challenge” at the, Highlanders vs. Moana Pasifika Super Rugby Pacific game on 26 April 2026.
4.3 The winner who claims the Prize is solely responsible for any and all costs associated with using the Prize, including but not limited to transportation to and from all airports and accommodation, meals, travel insurance, and any other incidentals or personal expenses. No additional benefits or reimbursements will be provided.
4.4 The Prize is as stated, non-negotiable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
4.5 UNICEF Aotearoa is not responsible for flight delays, cancellations, or changes imposed by the airline, hotel or event organisers.
4.6 The Prize is valued at approximately $2500.00.
5. Draw information
5.1 The winner will be determined by random selection on April 20 2026. The draw will be made at 10:00am on the premises of the UNICEF Aotearoa Auckland Offices (221 Symonds St, Eden Terrace, Auckland 1010) from all eligible entries received during the Competition Period. Members of the public are entitled to attend the draw.
5.2 If there is a dispute as to who submitted the Eligible Contribution associated with the winning entry, the winner will be the authorised account holder of the email address used to enter the Competition.
5.3 The winner will be notified by phone call and email on the number and contact email they provided at the time of entry. Contact will be made on the day of the draw.
5.4 If UNICEF Aotearoa is unable to contact the winner after two attempts or the winner has not otherwise responded by 5pm on April 20 2026, UNICEF Aotearoa may select another winner by random selection.
5.5 The selection results are final and no correspondence will be entered into. The results will be published on the UNICEF Aotearoa website https://www.unicef.org.nz/our-work/dc10-competition on 22 April 2026.
5.6 The Prize delivery will be arranged directly between the Prize winner and UNICEF Aotearoa and is subject to the Prize winner promptly providing UNICEF Aotearoa with all information requested.
5.7 The Prize winner is responsible for providing their correct contact and delivery details to receive the Prize.
5.8 The Prize will be forfeited if the Prize winner fails to provide details requested by the UNICEF Aotearoa in order to validly claim the Prize within two days of notification of winning the prize and UNICEF Aotearoa may then select another winner by random selection.
5.9 Any attempt to resell or transfer any part of the Prize will result in cancellation of the Prize and UNICEF Aotearoa may then select another winner by random selection.
6. Liability
6.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, UNICEF Aotearoa is not liable to any person for any direct, indirect or consequential loss, damage, or injury whatsoever suffered as a result of participating in the Competition or accepting the Prize including, without limitation personal injury or property damage, suffered as a result of or arising from any person participating in the Competition or in connection with winning (or not winning), using or benefiting from the Prize.
6.2 If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned for reasons including, without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of UNICEF Aotearoa which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, UNICEF Aotearoa reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or modify this Competition.
7. Changes
7.1 UNICEF Aotearoa may amend or cancel the Competition if it cannot proceed as planned due to circumstances outside its control. Any material changes to the Competition or these Terms will be communicated promptly on the UNICEF Aotearoa website.
8. Privacy
8.1 Personal information is collected for the purposes of administering the Competition and will be handled in accordance with UNICEF Aotearoa’s Privacy Policy.
8.2 The winner agrees to their name, address and photograph being used for any publicity purposes associated with the Competition (including, without limitation, the publication of the winner’s name in accordance with these Terms) and UNICEF Aotearoa’s half time “Every Drop Counts Challenge” at the Super Rugby Pacific game, Highlanders vs. Moana Pasifika on 26 April 2026.
9. General terms
9.1 The New Zealand National Committee for UNICEF Trust Board (“UNICEF Aotearoa”) is the society responsible for this Competition.
9.2 Silvia Martinez (Head of Individual Giving), New Zealand National Committee for UNICEF Trust Board, 86 Victoria Street, Wellington 6011, New Zealand is the organiser of the Competition.
9.3 To the extent there is any inconsistency between these Terms and any other details/instructions relating to the Competition, these Terms prevail.
