A gift in your Will is one of the most powerful ways you can support children who need it most. It costs you nothing today, but it’ll help rewrite the future for generations to come.

UNICEF reaches children wherever the need is greatest – delivering clean water, nutrition, health care, education, and emergency support when disasters hit. Your legacy gift makes this possible.

Why leave a gift in your Will?

For over 77 years UNICEF has helped lift millions from hardship, but we don't do it alone. When donors leave a gift in their Will we can keep showing up stronger, together, for children facing poverty, conflict, and disaster.

hear from our legacy donors

"There is so much inequity in society these days and the people who bear the brunt of that are children. So the more we can do to educate children, the more we can do to actually build their health, to build their cultural point of reference, the more they will have a happy life and a future."

  • A SIMPLE STEP BY STEP...

... to writing or updating your Will. First things first, we recommend seeking legal advice when creating or updating your Will. Prepare as many details of your finances as possible before seeing your solicitor.

It may also help to sit down with your family beforehand and decide how much you could realistically afford as a gift. There is no obligation to let us know, and you can change your mind at any time.

  • TYPES OF GIFTS

A residuary gift - Once you've taken care of your loved ones, you can leave a share of, or the remainder of, your estate to us. This is how most supporters choose to leave a legacy. A residuary gift keeps up with inflation, meaning it'll achieve as much in the future as it will now. It's the most impactful way to give!

A pecuniary gift - Is a specific amount of money in your Will left to UNICEF.

Gift a specific item - You can choose to leave us a specific item i.e. shares, property, and / or jewellery.

  • SUGGESTED WORDING

I give and bequeath free or all duties and taxes,

The residue of my estate, or

XX% of my whole estate, or

    XX% of the residue, or

    The specific sum of $XX

To leave a gift to UNICEF, you'll need to include the following details in your Will when naming us as a beneficiary: The New Zealand National Committee for UNICEF - Registered Charity No. CC35979 - Level 5, Technology One House, 86 Victoria Street, Wellington, 6011

  • LET US KNOW!
