Cyclone Gita Education Appeal

Cyclone Gita ripped through the Pacific, destroying and closing schools. Getting children back into education is critical – to overcome trauma.

Natural Disaster

Tropical Cyclone Gita caused chaos throughout the Pacific, devastating hundreds of communities throughout Samoa, Tonga and Fiji.  The destruction has destroyed livelihoods, torn apart buildings and forced essential services to close, including schools.

Getting children back into education is critical. It gives kids the routine needed to recover from the traumatic effects of living through crisis. And more than that, kids want to go to school. They not only get to play and learn, but education gives them the tools they need to lead happy, successful lives.

From supplying backpacks, to books, to temporary classrooms, UNICEF is responding across the pacific with the support children and communities desperately need. However we can only do that with your help.

Just $36 can give 5 children access to all the essential learning materials they need – books, pencils, erasers, scissors and even a wind-up solar radio.

We need you. The children need you. Please give what you can today.
