As UNICEF New Zealand embarks on a new strategic direction to increase its ability to improve the lives and wellbeing of children globally and in New Zealand, it is seeking a Chief Executive to lead the organisation.
The role requires an entrepreneurial and commercially astute leader known for their ability to lead high-performing teams. You’ll have the strategic competence and change management experience to ensure UNICEF New Zealand increases its global revenue contribution, through commercial partnering, philanthropy and fundraising. Your advocacy skills will be put to good use delivering on the other focus of the role – addressing the complex needs of New Zealand’s children.
You are likely to come from a corporate background and will be widely networked in this sector. You’ll also be politically astute, skilled at representation and advocacy and a highly effective relationship-builder and influencer. Committed to UNICEF’s vision and values, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to work in a Treaty-led partnership and demonstrate a commitment to equity.
UNICEF is the world’s leading children’s agency. The role of each of its 33 in-country entities, of which Aotearoa New Zealand is one, is to raise funds for the delivery of UNICEF’s programmes across the globe and to advocate for children’s wellbeing and rights. In addition to its global contribution, UNICEF New Zealand is highly regarded for its local programme delivery and advocacy and its focus on working with Māori and Pasifika communities.
The role could be Wellington or Auckland-based.
