Tim Sutton

Tim SuttonTim originally worked as the Communications Manager for UNICEF NZ in the mid 1990's. From there he joined UNICEF Bangladesh as an Assistant Project Officer.

In 1999 he moved to the UNICEF programme in Iraq and was based in Baghdad as the Communication Officer working with the international media and the Ministry for Information. He worked on the release of an often quoted child mortality survey which showed the cost of economic sanctions on Iraq's children.

From February of 2002 until 2005, Tim was the Programme Co-ordinator for UNICEF's programme in Bhutan. UNICEF New Zealand recently responded to a request from Tim to provide 200 NZ sheepskins for premature babies to prevent them from dying of hypothermia.

Tim has now returned closer to home as UNICEF's Programme Manager in the Pacific Islands, overseeing the operation of all UNICEF's projects in the region.
