MTV hosts, Amber Peebles and Jay Reeve, became Ambassadors in 2008. UNICEF New Zealand is excited to have them on board and is looking forward to working with them to promote children's rights at home and abroad.

Amber Peebles

Amber has been the sole female host and face of MTV NZ since it first launched in 2006. A former Miss New Zealand in 2003 and 2004, Amber has become a household name and face of the fashion and television industry. Amber enjoys the thrill of creating her own style which is portrayed through her painting and clothing design.

Charity support is an important facet of Amber’s life, having been an active participant in campaigns such as Breast Cancer Awareness Week, Radio Lollipop – Starship Children’s Radio Station, and the upcoming Peace – One Day event. Her giving nature and down-to-earth personality is a huge indicator of the commitment Amber shows towards being a UNICEF ambassador.

Jay Reeve

Jay is a host for a variety of different programmes and events for MTV New Zealand. A trained primary school teacher, he has always had an interest in children and young people and sees his role as a UNICEF ambassador as a fantastic outlet for expressing his views and improving the lives of children worldwide.

Having spent most of his life on dairy farms between Taranaki and Bay of Plenty, Jay is committed to taking a hands-on approach of all facets of his UNICEF involvement.

Jay is a competitive longboard surfer and an avid fan of all board sports. Because of his close relationship with the water, he has a heightened environmental awareness and sees the impact that globalization is having on the world’s water sources. He also uses the creative side of his brain to pursue his growing interest in photography and enjoys capturing candid, unstaged moments in life.
