This is a brief account of some Inspired Gifts which UNICEF, with the valuable help of our supporters, dispatched to the field between January and December 2009:

Testimony:
In rural areas, children, especially girls, are responsible for numerous chores, often at the expense of their education. Fajima does chores both before and after school. She attends Savelugu Junior Secondary School in Savelugu, the district capital, and rides more than an hour each way to and from school. Her bicycle, which she received a few years ago through a UNICEF-sponsored project, cuts her travel time in half.
“It takes more than two hours on foot. Without my bicycle, I could never make it to school on time.” - Fajima Yakubu, Student, 12 years old, Ghana
