What is a Global Parent?

As a Global Parent, you will make life-saving changes for children all around the world. Simply by donating monthly to UNICEF, you won't just sponsor a child, you will be helping many children in need. It’s a fantastic way to make a difference.

One month you may help prevent a girl from being taken from her family and trafficked into child labour, the next month you may help to feed a boy whose family is struggling to feed him properly.

As a UNICEF Global Parent you will not just support one child, but many children of all ages:

• 0-5 years...help new mothers to look after their babies by encouraging exclusive breastfeeding, giving vital childhood vaccines, ensuring children have clean drinking water and nutritious food.
• 6-12 years…ensuring children go to school to learn and play, helping them to grow up safely without the threat of abuse, exploitation, trafficking and child labour. You will help children not just survive, but thrive.
• 13-18 years…teach young people to keep themselves safe and protected from HIV/AIDS and violence, encourage their further education and help them reach their full potential.

UNICEF has an amazing history of bringing about dramatic and lasting change for children. As part of the United Nations, we have huge power and influence. But we receive no funding from the UN and rely on Global Parents to help achieve our life-saving work.

With your help, together we can change the future for the millions of children who live in poverty, who go to sleep hungry, who are orphaned and have no parents to care for them, who live on the street with nowhere safe to sleep.
