On the first day of school, UNICEF provides support for earthquake-affected children in Haiti

Nine months after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, UNICEF is bringing hope, opportunity and a brighter future to the 1.5 million children affected.

We are helping to re-build schools, train teachers and provide 720,000 school kits full of books, pencils and everything children will need on their first day back to school.

Our approach is not only to 'return to school', but to also get the 55 per cent of Haitian children who have never attended to go to school for the first time! We want 'all in school'! See what else we're doing in Haiti.
