State of the Pacific Youth
View 2011 State of Pacific Youth ReportThe State of Pacific Youth 2011 report by UNICEF Pacific and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community warns that not investing in youth NOW means risking the capacity of Pacific Island countries to escape dependence on aid, to develop economically and, in some cases, remain viable as societies.
The report draws on a mix of official statistics and surveys as well as interviews with young people themselves. It proposes principles and strategies to guide governments, multi-lateral agencies and donors in policy development and recommends a youth challenge fund be set up.
