Our Board
The UNICEF NZ Board is of Trustees is responsible for setting strategic direction and for monitoring and maximising the performance of the organisation.
The Board comprises nine trustees selected for their governance experience, business acumen and their interest in children's health and wellbeing. It is guided by the UNICEF NZ Trust Deed and a Code of Ethics.
| Chair: Graeme Sinclair FCA, ACA Principal, Advancing Biz Graeme Sinclair was appointed to the Board in January 2009 and as chair in November 2010. He has extensive business and accounting experience gained from his 32 -year career with KPMG, (21 years as a Partner). Graeme is a trustee for three community organisations, including UNICEF NZ, and provides business advice to Te Omanga Hospice. |

| Deputy Chair: Christine Scott Managing Director Strategy Inc Limited Christine Scott is an independent director of Trust Investments Management Ltd, an associate of the Business Excellence Foundation and the Executive Coaching Centre, and is associated with a number of charitable trusts as a trustee or volunteer. Christine also serves as an executive member of the Canada New Zealand Business Association. Previously she was New Zealand managing director of global insurer Royal & SunAlliance (now SunCorpMetway in Australasia). |

| Professor Gregor Coster CNZM, MB ChB, MSc(Hons), PhD, FRNZCGP (Dist), AFInstD Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Auckland Professor Coster has extensive governance experience in the health sector and chairs the Counties Manukau District Health Board, and District Health Boards New Zealand. He is deputy chairman of Health Workforce New Zealand. He has served as a trustee on several other charitable trusts including The Goodfellow Foundation, the Knox Home and the Laura Fergusson Trust. |

| Bryan Crawford Chairman and group CEO of DRAFTFCB Australasia Bryan joined the Board of UNICEF New Zealand in 2005, having served as a director of a range of companies and industry bodies within the energy sector. He has also held a number of senior leadership roles, including CEO of NGC Ltd, GM sales and marketing at UnitedNetworks and Vector, Sales and Marketing Director at ACP Publishing, and GM Corporate Marketing and Retail Development at Chevron NZ Ltd (Caltex). Bryan is also a former chair of the advertising industry body CAANZ and served as chair of UNICEF NZ from 2007-2009. |

| Dame Susan Devoy DNZM, CBE Dame Susan is one of New Zealand’s most outstanding sportswomen and was ranked number one in world squash from 1983 until retirement in October 1992. She sits on several boards, including the Halberg Trust where she has been chairperson since 1998. She is deputy chairperson of the Health Sponsorship Council, a trustee of the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust, a board member of Sustainability Council, and a member of the NZ Foundation for Youth Development BOP. She is also Patron of NZ Squash and of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. |

| Fa'amatuainu Tino Pereira MNZM Managing Director of Niu Vision Group Fa'amatuainu Tino Pereira is an experienced governance practitioner. Tino is chair of board of National Pacific Radio Trust, and has more than 20 years experience as a journalist, broadcaster and cultural communications specialist. He also chairs Family & Community Services and has had significant community involvement for more than two decades. Tino holds the chiefly orator title of Fa’amatuainu from Lufilufi in Samoa. |

| Liz Henderson Managing Director of Strategic Solutions International Ltd Liz is a Canadian Kiwi, with an MA in International Development. She has worked and lived in the field in both Africa and Asia. Over the last 11 years, Liz has been the managing director of Strategic Solutions International Ltd, a strategy consultancy based in Christchurch, and has worked with a number of New Zealand’s large companies and public sector organisations. Liz introduced the Curves women’s fitness centres to the South Island, establishing the first three Curves gyms in Canterbury. Liz has been on the UNICEF Board since 2009. |

| Paula Snowden Chief Executive, the Quit Group Before joining Quit Group in 2009, Paula was director community relations at ACC, and general manager at Housing New Zealand. She also served as deputy chief executive of the Alcohol Advisory Council where as she was principally responsible for ALAC's social marketing programme. Paula has also had a number of policy roles including in the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and the Ministry of Māori Development. Paula’s tribal affiliation is Ngapuhi. |

| Dr Nikki Turner Director of the Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC), University of Auckland As well as heading IMAC at the University of Auckland, Nikki is also a senior lecturer in General Practice and Primary Health Care for the Universities of Auckland and Otago. She specialises in immunisation and preventive child health issues and also works part time as a general practitioner with the Pacific Health Centre, Newtown Union Health Services. Nikki is involved in a number of Ministry of Health advisory committees including chairing the Immunisation Technical Forum. She works as a consultant on immunisation issues for the World Health Organization. She is an executive member and health spokesperson for the Child Poverty Action Group. |
