Kora Lang Society

The Kora Lang Society is a group of special UNICEF supporters who have told us that they have left a bequest for children with UNICEF.

Sharing this compassion and wonderful deed, members of the Kora Lang Society meet for regular luncheons around the country, and enjoy meeting interesting speakers who are involved in UNICEF’s work for children.

If you are interested in leaving a bequest to UNICEF, we welcome you to join our Kora Lang Society luncheons. When you make a bequest to UNICEF, we invite you to become an honoured member of the Kora Lang Society.

Who was Kora Lang?

"When someone became a friend of Kora's, they also became involved with UNICEF."

Kora Lang was an inspiring lady. From the Kapiti Coast, she was a tireless and passionate advocate for UNICEF, as well as a much loved music teacher who inspired her pupils, friends and all who came in contact with her to help the world’s children with UNICEF.

With concerts, dinners and dances, Kora organized wonderful events for UNICEF, and was honoured for her work by Her Majesty the Queen with an MBE. Kora Lang also made sure that she included a bequest for UNICEF in her Will, so that her remarkable work could continue well into the future.

Sir Roger Moore, UNICEF Ambassador

"I have had the rare privilege of seeing first-hand UNICEF's work with children around the world.

"I have met countless children who are benefiting, whose lives have been saved by UNICEF. Many are living in appalling poverty, without the day-to-day essentials we take for granted. Others are bravely struggling to survive in situations of conflict.

"The work we do today is vital and lifesaving. But I have some grave concerns about the future. The hardships that so many children face - drought, famine, war - will not go away in the foreseeable future.

The legacies left by UNICEF supporters enable us to be there for future generations, and continue to save and uplift the lives of our world's most precious citizens in years to come."
