UNICEF NZ is a leading player in domestic advocacy for children. We work with a range of organisations in the
course of our domestic advocacy programme.
We also work closely with, or as part of, the following organisations:
Action for Children & Youth Aotearoa (ACYA)
ACYA, is a coalition of non-governmental organisations, families and individuals whose purpose is to promote the well-being of children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand through:
• Education and advocacy on the rights of children and young people.
• Encouraging the Government to act on the recommendations of the United Nations committee on the Rights of the Child.

Every Child Counts
Our primary collaboration is the Every Child Counts coalition. The coalition is formed by five core partners: Barnados, Plunket, UNICEF, Save the Children, and the Te Kahui Mana Ririki Trust. There is a membership of over 400 organisations and 6,000 individuals. The coalition works to educate people about political and community actions that will support children and their families.We also work closely with, or as part of, the following organisations:

Family Violence Non-Governmental Organisations (FVNGO)
FVNGO is a collaboration of organisations concerned with the response to, and prevention of, family violence and provides representatives to the Government Task Force on Violence Within Families. Its purpose includes:• Advocating for best practice in service provision for families affected by violence.
• Educating and advising various organisations and agencies regarding family violence.
• Coordinating efforts to obtain resources to respond to and prevent family violence.

Office of the Children’s Commissioner (OCC)
The Office of the Children's Commissioner is an Independent Crown Entity. This means the Commissioner is independent of Government. The Children's Commissioner is appointed by the Governor-General on the advice of the Government-of-the-Day.
